happy brithday to meToday is my 50th birthday. Looking back over the past 50 years, I know I have made mistakes. As I sit here, on vacation in Hawaii, waiting for the sun to rise over the ocean, I feel so very thankful for the many blessings I have in my life.

I want to start the day by thanking my Mom and Dad, for giving me life. I can’t even imagine the pains and joys that I caused you while I was growing up. I am sure glad now that I am 50 years old, we are friends and can enjoy laughing at the crazy things I’ve done in the past and those I will probably do in the future. I don’t really learn from my mistakes, I just now do them with a scotch in my hand.

Thank you to my beautiful wife Loree. You are not only my life partner but my business partner. I am so grateful for the gifts and love that you have shared with me in our life. I couldn’t even imagine celebrating today without you. More importantly, together we celebrate our lives everyday. I love you.

Our good friends Don and Carrie Schultz have joined us on this vacation to celebrate this milestone in my life. You two are first and foremost friends but also colleagues and clients. This has been a year of ups and downs but through it all, we continue to push on together and love one another like family.

For all of you who are reaching out to wish me a happy birthday, thank you very much. I do appreciate LinkedIn and Facebook reminding you that I have a birthday today. Rather than sending me a birthday wish, please take $5 from your pocket and donate to a charity of your choice for my birthday. If you don’t have a charity, please donate to the March of Dimes which is my charity of choice. I ask this for one reason, we never know how much time we have left on this rock, so let’s take a moment and try to make a difference for someone else.

It doesn’t matter if I am rich, poor, thin, fat… I am so very grateful for today and everyday that I have left. Today, I feel like the richest man in the world because of who I have in my life.

All the best,
